First Friday Letter

Brown Middle School

First Friday Letter

May 5, 2017

Dear Families,

This year, the week of May 1 – 5 marks Teacher Appreciation Week.  I would like to publicly thank each of our teachers for the excellent work that they do on behalf of students at Brown.  Our teachers are very talented and outstanding at what they do.  Please remember that School Policy does not permit teachers to accept personal gifts from parents or students.  If you would like to recognize or thank your teachers a card, note, or email is suggested as an appropriate gesture.  You may also want to make a contribution to the Brown Middle School PTO to support our school community.  I would also like to thank Felice Scheff and Nancy Braudis   and all of the parent volunteers on the PTO Teacher Appreciation Committee for the delicious dessert buffet held this past Tuesday in recognition of our Broun Faculty and Staff.

National School Nurse Day will be held on May 10th.  This day of recognition has been set-aside since 1972 to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting.  This specialized practice advances the well-being, academic success and life-long achievements of students.  At Brown, we are extremely grateful for all of the caring and professional attention that our highly talented Lucy Boyer provides to the entire school community.

As we begin the process of organizing student placement on teams for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year, it is important to verify enrollment.  If your child(ren) in sixth or seventh grade will not be returning to Brown in September, please notify our student services office at 617-559-6907.  Thank you for your cooperation.  If you have any questions regarding this request, please do not hesitate to call me at 617-559-6900.
