Join Us at the Brown/Oak Hill Giving Project Potluck! May 16, 6-8pm
The Giving Project Potluck is a very special community event that brings families from Brown and Oak Hill together over a delicious meal while raising awareness and funds for some of the many charities supported by our students and faculty. Don’t miss this great opportunity to make a difference!
This year, our goal is to shine a light on organizations in the Greater Boston Area currently working to help our world become a safe, welcoming and thriving place for everyone.
The Nominations Are In!

Selecting five organizations to be featured at the Giving Project Potluck dinner on May 16 was extremely challenging, but unfortunately there is only time for 5 presentations at the event, so a selection had to be made. The finalists are:
What’s Happens Next? The Fun Part!
- The community comes together at the Giving Project Potluck Dinner on Tuesday, May 16, 6-8pm in the Brown Cafeteria.
Attendees bring a donation and a favorite dish to share with friends old and new, and hear presentations about the 5 selected organizations.
- Everyone “votes” for their favorite organization(s) with pennies.
Once the presentations are over, 5 jars will be placed on a table, one for each organization. Every participant is then given the same number of pennies, and asked to “donate” their pennies to the organization(s) of their choice by placing them in the appropriate jar(s).
- The funds collected are shared between the organizations according to how many pennies they get.
At the end of the evening the pennies in each jar will be tallied, and all the funds raised through donations will be divided up between the 5 organizations in proportion to the amount of pennies they each receive.
