Dear Brown Community,

Thank you to all who at ate Shake Shack on Thursday! We should get the results this coming week and will announce in the next newsletter. And, stay tuned for our next fundraising opportunity at Tango Mango in June!

6TH GRADE DANCE

We offer a big thank to all the families who donated items, money, and their time to make the 6th grade dance a success. We could not have done it without you. We also want to thank Elizabeth Messina, Aileen Merrick, Kate Daoust, Alyssa Cantwell, Rachel Heep, Kaley Bugg, Iphigenie Danjour, Renae Keszycki, Jess Hoover, Principal Lysaght, and Officer Leo for attending the dance. We hope your 6th grader had a good time. This was the first time the PTO has hosted a dance in years, so if you have thoughts about how it went or suggestions, please let us know at brownpto@brownpto.org.

7TH GRADE DANCE

The 7th grade “Midnight in Paris” dance is Friday, May 1st, 6:00-8:00pm in the cafeteria. Tickets are $10. Students can buy a ticket at lunch time the week of April 26th. If cost presents an issue, please reach out to your school counselor for a ticket. There will be a DJ, games, prizes, a raffle, snacks, and an ice cream bar! Dressing up is optional. Lastly, we need donations/volunteers to make this night a success. Sign up here!

8TH GRADE UPDATES

6TH GRADE CAREGIVER NIGHT OUT

Eliza Spaulding and Dave Lievens have graciously offered to host a 6th grade caregiver night out on May 30th. See below for more details and to RSVP.

NEWTON SERVES PROJECT

Thank you to Julie Winsett for volunteering to lead our 2026 Newton Serves Project (Sunday, May 3). If you want to help plan or help the day of, let Julie know at juliewinsett@gmail.com. PRINCIPAL COFFEE (APRIL 16TH)

Join us on April 16th from 8:30-9:30am in the Brown Library for coffee with Principal Lysaght and Assistant Principal for Student Services, Samantha Murray.

Open to all Brown parents and caregivers, this discussion will be an opportunity to hear a brief overview of Brown’s general and special education programming and preliminary thoughts on the impact of the FY27 budget with plenty of time for questions. Our goal is to share more about Brown’s unique composition and create space to follow up on the recent School Committee budget discussions. We hope you’ll join us for this community conversation!

NPS COMMUNITY BUDGET FORUM

NPS will be hosting a Community Budget Forum on April 16th at Brown Middle School from 7:00–8:00pm.

The School Committee has set the official last day of school for Thursday, June 25.

Lastly, there will be no newsletter on April 19th – enjoy the break! We will return April 26th.
