We are six weeks away from the end of the school year and we have a lot going on!
8th GRADE FAMILIES
The 8th Grade Fees and Permission deadline has been extended to Monday, May 18th. We are still missing 15% of students’ fees and making an urgent request to close the gap so that we don’t have to cancel the T-shirt order. And see below for more 8th grade updates.
BOOK SWAP PROGRAM UPDATE
Last year, we collected summer reading books from students to make them available for students this summer. If families have copies of Frazzled, The Benefits of Being an Octopus, or Becoming: Young Reader’s Edition, or any other age-appropriate titles and want to donate them for re-circulation, please bring them to the Main Office at the school this week. And, if you want a book, check out Mrs. Q-M’s library cart!

SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING
The School Committee will discuss math assessment results for at the next School Committee meeting, tomorrow, Monday, May 18th at 6.30pm. More details are further down in the newsletter.
END-OF-YEAR CONCERTS (MAY 27TH AND MAY 28TH)
Brown Middle School’s End-of-Year Concerts celebrate the dedication and talent of our student musicians. Families are invited to support the music department through our annual rose sale fundraiser by pre-ordering a rose for their performer. Please contact xiaodan.xie@hotmail.com or ying.chen@me.com if you are interested in helping with concert setup and rose sale. More details below.
6TH GRADE CAREGIVER NIGHT OUT (SATURDAY, MAY 30TH)
Eliza Spaulding and Dave Lievens have graciously offered to host a 6th grade caregiver night out on May 30th. See below for more details and to RSVP.
PTO DONATION EVENT AT TANGO MANGO (JUNE 5TH-7TH). Eat at Tango Mango on June 5th, 6th, and/or 7th and mention Brown Middle School at checkout and 15% of the cost will be donated to the Brown PTO!
BOOK FAIR 2.0 (JUNE 9TH-10TH)
We are gearing up for the book fair on Tuesday June 9 – Wednesday June 10 in partnership with Wellesley Books! See below for some more information.
